Antoin
A previous owner has obviously removed the little LED that lights up the airbag symbol on my instrument cluster because of the various airbag faults that are a common occurrence on the E46. Does anyone know where I could buy the little LED (without buying a new cluster)? Or even what that style of LED is called? Or could I solder a normal LED onto the board? MOT is in June and id rather get it sorted now rather than later. Im pretty sure the previous owner just gave the MOT man a backhander to pass it judging by some of the bodges on the car. Thanks, Anton Edited February 17, 2015 by Antoin
BmEagle
Have you taken the cluster apart or assuming it's been removed as it doesn't light up on the display pre ignition. I only ask as I've heard of people taping the display up from behind to hide it.
Antoin
Ive had it apart and he has prised the LED off the board. (What a wnaker!) Ive since found out that the LEDs are 3258 SMD's, so ive ordered 10and I intend to solder one on. This will probably highlight a fault with the airbags id imagine. Il cross that bridge when I get to it.
BmEagle
Good excuse to fit dial rings and do the red needle mod if not done already.
Antoin
Already got the dial rings as its a sport. Never thought about the red needle. Im trying to get everything fixed before I start any mods. That day seems so far away at the minute.....I fix one thing and 2 more problems appear!
