El Turko
Ah man thats a shame - was looking forward to the colour combo. But I feel your pain. I tried to dye a few individual bits for the e36 and failed in spectacular fashion. No idea what I was doing wrong. Used scuffmaster, did it in very fine coats over god knows how many days, and it still looked like I'd painted it with a paintbrush in 2 minutes. Its definitely not as easy as its made out. Jay.
Definatley mate, it's easy to make it look good on Instagram photos etc, but in person it looks like a pvc van seat from a 1985 Vauxhall Astra van! sive s and Melv1958
Chimp Choker
I found the kit from bespoke leather to be a matte finish, albeit kiwi. Sent from my LG-H815 sive s
Craig_09
With scuffmaster I found it impossible to get a perfect finish (black) with a applicator sponge etc and the finish was always shiny and streaky. As soon as I used a hobby air brush kit with compressor, the finish was 100% perfect and Matt in colour! sive s
das_flo
I often wondered what the finish would be like. Don't you need to lightly sand between coats? I bought loads of scuff master dye for my E46 when I had it, because the leather had faded on the rear headrests and the drivers seat was starting to get a bit worn - I never got to it though, for fear of making it worse. Bek: What's Joey's interior like - he sent his to Sleeper to be done if I recall?
Jay.
i also bought a spray gun in the end, but it run and looked s**te. All depends on your levels of OCD i guess. You can't replicate anything from the factory or a re-trim specialist - fact If your looking for a quick cheap colour change then its ideal

You can't replicate anything from the factory or a re-trim specialist - fact If your looking for a quick cheap colour change then its ideal Truthfully it depends how long you spend on it. It can be done very well of you a patient. Removing the panels and masking up properly. Plus there is a way to stop it from running. As I have done a few. I have learnt how to do it. Trevor
I did the seats in my Boxster. Looked new when done. I spent hours and hours on the preparation tho. A full weekend cleaning and stripping the seats to pieces. It's all in the preparation and then careful application. I've seen Jay at work, he's hit the nail on the head when he said he hasn't the patience. sive s
Jay.
did you dye from black to Cinnamon tho Trev? I imagine not! Dying from black to any other colour is extremley difficult, i even got the mrs to help with the prep as i know how impatient i am, and even with loads of prep work, its still hard to dye from black.other updates; The 32's are coming back! They are the best wheels so far on the car (IMO Obvs!) so they are coming this weekend (hopefully) And i'm getting them powdercoated in the next few weeks.Cinnamon interior (half done) Hopefully going to Allan K later this week, or in a few weeks!Cracked a splitter, this will need filling & spraying!NEed a dent repairing on the drivers door which happened when my trolley jack blew a seal & threw the bar up at the door Melv1958

Trevor
It was to be fair. Hadn't thought of you starting with black tho and going lighter. Sometimes ocd helps, this was one of them.

Jay.
Wheels were picked up on Friday, dropped off for powder coating Just collected then now! Pretty happy aside one tyre keeps going down so the slightly rough finish on the inside of the rim must not let the tyre seat berts, The_Judge_, Mark_F and 2 others
