bennno2005
Has anyone done this before? I've searched the net but can't find anything that shows how to remove the leather covers from seats. I want to do this to install heated seat elements you see. Going to have a go tonight but a guide would obviously be useful.
Megadodo
Check out my car blog, http://www.e46zone.com/forum/topic/57391-megadodos-new-320i-se-touring/page-2, its easy enough to do but it's time consuming. Just ask if you have some more specific questions about the whole process. bennno2005

alex21126
I also did this, bought myself a nice looking passanger seat for £60 and changed the leather cover over to my riped drivers seat.. worked a treat and its very easy. Good Luck!
bennno2005
Well I did the passenger seat last night. Wasn't too tricky but you weren't wrong when you said time consuming. Took me around 3 hours to strip the seat, install the element and put it back together again afterwards. I didn't remove the seat back cover fully as I was convinced I'd break the tilt handles, however I did manage to slot the element in (would have been a lot easier to do this if I could have taken it right off. Need to find some time to do the drivers seat another day. Hopefully it won't take me quite as long second time round. One thing I did notice was that there is a bit of wadding behind the leather on my seats which will no doubt reduce the effectiveness of the elements. I thought about removing but didn't want my seats to look saggy have to see how well they work once I put the seat back in. Megadodo
Megadodo
Wadding makes little difference, leave it there. bennno2005
