lamborgini8 Posted January 21, 2016 Report Share Posted January 21, 2016 So I have got myself a mtech2 front bumper for me 320cd SE and running into problem after problem that simply is driving me insane. Does anyone know what the correct lower grill is for the mtech2 bumper? I seam to have wasted money on a grill that was incorrectly advertised on ebay that turned out to be the smaller mtech1 grill... Now I have got myself what I think is correct and fits ok but I seam to have two extra tabs on the bumper itself preventing it from fitting fully.... Here's the grill I have... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361460143529 ...and going by the pictures, that's the same bumper as well. Yet everything lines up correctly and clips on bit the two top very side corners of the bumper itself has extra tabs where there are not on the grill itself. Have I got the wrong grill once again? Here's what I have. Trouble is I can't find any part numbers that are the same as the realoem ones on the actual parts and searching for my year on realoem doesn't help because I don't know what year or anything the bumper originally came off. I just forked out a 3rd time for yet another grill seeing this one... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172049376996 Look at the bottom corners, the rounded section. There's a hole for the extra clip I have that no one else seams to have. It's literally driving me insane explaining the problem to so many people now who all say "it just clips in" or "mine fits" when mine clearly doesn't. It seams somewhere alone the line BMW removed the extra clip from the grill and bumper and didn't tell anyone, to make that worse they kept the same part numbers. If you search my bumper part number on google (51112695518) and look at the pictures, you can see the extra clip on the bumper, whereas search ebay or anywhere for a mtech2 bumper and none of them have the clip. Tewkes Posted January 24, 2016 Report Share Posted January 24, 2016 Firstly. That definitely is MTECH 2. The MTECH 1 doesn't go on coupes. It's an overseas thing for coupes. The saloons come with MTECH 1 front bumpers which is completely different to yours. Can you nip the tabs off for a fit?
