Erisin Unit Draining Battery

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Cant find my original thread about this, so Ill summarize the history of the issue first.

I bought my Erisin stereo about a year ago from Ebay.

When I first turned it on, I smelt smoke coming from the stereo and my amplifier would not turn off. Contacted Erisin multiple times, who after about 1 week got back to me and told me that I need to send my stereo back and get it repaired / replaced. The stereo was under 6 months old at the time and the listing stated it had 1 years warranty. I dropped the stereo off as the destination they gave me was about 5 minutes from my house. When they received the unit, they stated something to do with the IC board was faulty and the unit needed to be replaced. They requested £55 to get me a new stereo sent back. I questioned the warranty, but got nowhere with it; so decided to send the money as id rather not lose a unit completely.

Got the new unit about 6 days later and had the same issue. Smoke coming out the back of the stereo, but the amplifier was being turned off thankfully. The unit powers down fully when I turn the car off and only comes on with the ignition. However, the stereo is draining the battery. Has anyone had this issue before?

I did a Google search and a thread came up where advice was given to the owner to swap a "blue / black wire" with a solid blue wire.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thank You.

Have you changed the settings where the unit stays in sleep mode for up to 2 hours?

Hi mate,

if it's the shutdown delay when ACC off the yeah it's been set to 30 seconds for a while now.

cheers.

I think your only chance with fixing this swapping the live wires so it only gets power with ignition on :(
