vyrule
Hi Guys - Bit of a random one I've fitted new speakers into my door, but haven't soldered yet. I was wondering if there is any connectors I could solder to the wires for the speakers so that i don't have to cut the wires every time i want to take the door panels off (as we all know they have to come off more frequently than we'd like on these cars!) Any help appreciated! Cheers
dontpannic
Standard or aftermarket? If we're talking aftermarket speakers then you'll have two different sizes of spade connector on the back in most cases: 2.8mm spade - negative 4.8mm spade - positive So long as your new speakers have the two posts on the back, two different sizes then those will be fine. http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/head-unit-accessories/autoleads-speaker-terminal-connectors They just crimp on to the cable. vyrule
aftermarket, yes. these look like they will do the trick! thanks. Do they disconnect easily enough?
dontpannic
Yeah, they're just push fit. Pretty secure once they're on but easily disconnected. You'll need a cheap crimping tool to go with them if you haven't already got one. Can pick them up in screwfix cheap enough.
