Paul TVR
I'm having an issue with the stereo installed in my e46, it was fitted by the previous owner, it's a windows ce (I think) has been working fine, except poor radio reception, but after a long drive the nearside front channel started making a loud high pitch noise, now the channel seems OK when first driving but drops out after a few minutes. Guessing the amp is blown. Is this a common issue with them?
lozevans
The poor radio reception is probably down to no power going to the antenna amp, pin 16 in the original connector block Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Paul TVR
Pin 16 does have a wire going to it.
lozevans
Have you checked that there is power to it? I only say this as I had same problem with bad radio reception, mine had a wire going to it but no power, found that you needed to connect the blue amp out wire to it to give it power. Paul TVR
I will check that then, but if the preout isn't working then I will need a new unit anyway.
