RyanUK Posted February 18, 2020 Report Share Posted February 18, 2020 Hello I have a 2002/3 E46 325ci i had a battery lose juice and the car would die every time I touched the throttle i replace the battery and warning light went away for about 2/3 weeks all was fine then suddenly one day it appeared up on the dash - tho it drove fine and got me home no problem I checked the volts with a multi meter when car was off and got 12v when engine was running 11.6v and so I installed a new alternator but the light was still on dash ! I rechecked the volts and it is running 12.2v with engine off and 13.8v with engine running and all electrical things turned on (14.2v when just running engine radio and headlights) I drove about a mile to get some petrol and twice the car went into limp mode before setting back to ‘normal running’ all the while the battery light is still on the dash there is now a slight burning smell in the cabin when driving short circuit?
