aaron Posted July 3, 2008 Report Share Posted July 3, 2008 firstly quality site for tips etc , but can any one tell me one way or the other as opinion seems divided. what bumpers will fit on an e46 update 4 door saloon, some say none other than 4 door bumper , others say coupe will fit and others say it wont. some say the m3 bumper will fit and again some say it wont. i would like to here from those of you that can tell me 100% what options will work and what wont. also the same with the rear bumper what will fit and what wont? its driving me crazy and all the time i have that bumper on my car makes it worse! also as i have the horrible front bumper(bmw what was going on there?) with the small front fogs will the coupe/convertible front fogs plug in to my loom or do modifications need to be done. thanks to all who post Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Every combination of bumper/car type has probably already been tried, and you'll more than likely find 3 million pics showing the varieties. As far as I know, all pre face lift bumpers will fit post face lift, and vice versa. So, later Mtec bumpers will bolt straight on, as an option. The M3 is pre face lift, and has a wider set of front and rear fenders. The bumper support is also different on the M3 as it sits further forward. As a bolt on replacement, it's not going to mate up... unless you mod the fenders big time. There are replica M3 and M3 CSL front and rear bumpers about, that slide straight onto your 4 door. I'm led to believe the coupe rear bumper will fit onto a 4 door, but I've not tried it nor seen it done. Usually e46.com guys run M3 replica front bumpers and Mtec rears... Dicky Posted July 4, 2008 Report Share Posted July 4, 2008 The sport coupe bumpers will not fit straight on to a saloon as they dont have the bumper strip like the saloon's.
