Added the above today as per the guide on here with the Connects2 steering wheel harness
Won't bothervwith pics as you've seen it all before. Only struggle was the microphone as I don't have the factory mic position in the headlining so had to drill a 10mm hole to mount the mic
Works a treat as it uses the Voice Control on the iPhone
Fed up of my shiny wheel having tried the Gliptone cleaner whech didn't work, I went for the Magic Eraser option...
Shiny Wheel
Filthy sponge from just one wipe of the top right quarter
Finished. Nice and clean, looking (and smelling) good!
So today decided to remove the plate holder as the replacement strip has been rattling around in the boot for ages...
Needs a bit of fettling to get it straight and looking seamless and I had to cut loads off the original plate and the new one will be stuck on so it will follow the curve of the trim but it's a good start
Also, had a can of black Plastidip lying around so decided to split the grills and do the outers. See how long it lasts!
So it's transformed the look of the f
Well, since joining the forum - in the short time I have been here (very short) I have found it to be the best Forum on the web for the E46.
The advice received has been great, and some of the cars here are stunning. - What am I saying??? They are all E46's - there a stunning!
Anyway, following some of the sound advice received (no pun intended) I have ordered the following:
Pioneer MVH-8300BT Headunit - Ordered this due to its iPod control/ display. It also has 3x 4v Pre-Outs - which w
Roof bike rack fitted and a few other little mods. Kindney grill painted surround, not 100% sure on that though if am honest. Pressed plates. Middles section plasti-dipped front bumper black.
While I was away on holiday my brother took my car in to his works for some paint for me. Had the roof painted gloss black. Saw it on a Mercedes and I liked it...
I was looking at getting the interior looking abit more up to date. So I was going to buy the dashboard sections that was already carbon fibre but I then looked into wrapping it. It was a hell of a cheaper option so I thought I'd give it a go.
So it went from this ...
To this in around an hour or so ...
I was very happy with the turn out of the wrapping. Alot cheaper than buying it or even getting someone to wrap it for me. I think it finished off
Well I got myself a Pre face coupe and seeming I had another car to drive at the time I thought I'd spend some money on getting it some facelift front end...
So I had this car to start with ...
I got that sold and put some money into my E46.
Some new wheels, tints, lowered and a facelift frond end apart from the M-Tech II front bumper which I couldn't get for the life of me at the time.
Hi Guys, I'm 19 and have previously been insured as a secondary driver on my mums VW Polo 1litre. I'm wanting to get my own BMW (Preferbly 320D) but am not wanting to pay the £7000 insurance quote! I know i can go as a second driver, and put my mum as the main, however this cost will never then reduce, and it also means I'll get no claims however this option is only £1500. I wondered if anyone knew of a good insurance company (Reasonable priced) which I could go comprehensive on for this car?
Bought them looking like this..
Then I had them refurbed, lips polished but not lacquered and centres painted in an Audi metallic grey colour
Next I had them shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 3 225/40/18 on the fronts and Bridgestone RE040 255/35/18 on the rear.
Couple of days after lowering the car I was sat stationary at a set of traffic lights and the person in front decided to randomly reverse into me which resulted in this.
3 weeks later courtesy of the third parties insurance company it came back after having...
New bonnet
New offside headlight
New bumper trims
New arch linings
New grills
New side repeater
Freshly sprayed bumper, bonnet and blended into wings.
...oh and a damaged/leaky headlight washer which I only realised
14 May 2012, purchased off eBay for a very good price. Completely standard unmolested car. Had covered just over 101000 miles.
Seller had just had the car MOTd and replaced the propshaft donut.
Car drove very well indeed - couple of bits needed work but nothing major.
Worst thing about it was the mismatched rear ditchfinder tyres!
Few pics when I'd got it home and cleaned it up...
Basically the same as my thread in the photo zone but decided to make a blog where everything I do from now can go.
ive owned my e46 saloon since october 09 with all intentions of keeping it as a standard SE saloon but that went out the window after 4 months of ownership!
first off was a set of 18'' e90 m3 rep wheels
next up was a set of led angel eyes which i wired up as drl's
then it was time to sort the ride height out so ordered a set of eibach pro kit springs and haad them
Here are what I've considered and will probably buy one of the top 3 cars:
E92 335d or 335i - logical step forward really, but they're starting to look old already and I don't want to be in this position next year when I'm bored of looking at it
Mercedes C class 320/350 cdi - very comfy cars and I prefer the styling to the BMW, but the BMW 335d is more powerful, economical and pollutes less - also the emergency / parking brake thing is very confusing.
Audi A4 'vert or A5 3.0tdi quattro
So here's my problems as to why I can't decide.
1. Petrol vs diesel - modern diesel engines kick ass there's no two ways about it but now I've started full time work the car is used 99% by the mrs for taking the kids to school so I'm not getting the full benefit of a diesel but still better than a petrol 320i. Also the new diesels have dpf filters and an average speed of 14mph will kill the dpf eventually.
2. 5 seats or 4? Most coupes have 4 seat and I have 3 kids so a 5 seater is needed b
As I've said many times, it's time the E46 went but finding the right replacement is proving difficult. The Mrs says she wants something sporty looking and I want something FAST - not that I drive fast but it's always good to have the option
So picked up an E36 M3 Evolution Indiviual in stunning Avus blue with some funky Biscuit/Tan/Orange/Brown leather Vadar interior. It had mostly BMW Service history bar the last couple which were independent. It has a very reasonable 89,000 miles which is great for a 16yr old motor. It came with the private plate M3 YHA which i have to say i was quite pleased with.
Frustratingly i fear i have vanos issues and whats most annoying is it didnt make a sound on the test drive (i was actually amazed
So, I thought it was about time I finally got together a full write up about my car. So much has changed during my time of ownership. Mostly the wheels, having been through six different alloy wheels and styles, and on the second lowering method, with the third sat in my garage ready to go on. This is the first car I have owned for more than twelve months which must be a good sign. Basically my aim with this was to get it as low as possible, as wide as possible and as attention seeking as possib
