New Mod - Tinted Topaz

Recommended Posts

Ive not really been on here last week because of my laptop being sent off for repair  and after passing her MOT last week with flying colours and to cheer myself up i thought id treat her to a new mod - tinted windows :o

Ive never really been a fan of the blacked out gangster look but after seeing a few new cars with the back 3 windows tinted i decided to go for it. A few pictures taken in the rain this afternoon so not really the best

I went for the lightest tint on the front 2 and then the shade darker on the rears

Nice Stringy, good choice on the subtle tints - I think subtle tints make such an improvement to the car. ;)

Like Si says did they have any problems with the dot matrix on the rear screen?

Thats what has always put me off.

Mine's tinted all round Marty, and the dot matrix is fine. It doesn't bond completely around each dot (there's like 0.5mm around each), but because every dot is identical, the pattern looks like its meant to be. Its difficult to explain really, but I'll show you mine next meet. I'll try get a photo if the rain stops.

For the record, I've never had any grief by the police even though the tints are the same all round, and I think that's because they're not 'take the p1ss dark'. When I got pulled and given points in London last week, it was evening, and none of the police said anything.

Def be interested in seeing that mate if you dont mind.

It has to be said i never noticed it at Santa Pod so it cant be much of an issue.

Course not mate. I'll see if I can get out for a couple snaps soon.

This is the top drivers side corner. You can see, once the dots get small enough, the tinting material manages to bond around them to the glass. Makes a pattern, but you only notice it if you really scrutinize it, otherwise you'd never notice it. It doesnt bother me at all tbh.

Nice one Keith!

No that wouldn't bother me either.

Have just heard nightmare stories about the film starting to peel back from the edges because of the dots but that doesn't look like it would be a problem there.

Stringy / Keith did either of you have your rear screens taken out or was it all done while they were in?
