R19 DAG
It's killing me, My 330ci sport convertible is costing £65 to fill up with petrol and I am only getting 280 miles from the tank. It doesn't seem to matter if I drive like miss daisy at or hitting the pedal a bit harder. Is any one doing any better or carried out any mods to ease the costs, don't get me wrong every time i get in out of the car I have a hugh smile on my face but what a cost! I was looking at remapping but not sure if that would generate a saving and increase my mpg
das_flo
From what i gather, your car can be mapped to suit your driving style and requirements ie economy or performance. i doubt this would improve fuel economy though, just not make it any worse. What sort of MPG are you averaging, and what sort of journeys do you do? A good service should help improve it, is it due one soon?
zimzimmer46
Thats normal fella. I pay £70 a week(290 miles) but i use v power about £1.14 ltr. Remap might might save u a few pennys....or u could get a smaller engine.
mit
That's normal. Fits in with the mpg quoted by BMW really... They just drink a lot that's all.
R19 DAG
The car has just been serviced and I travel from Chafford Hundred to Wickford during the week so average at 24mpg, however I went over the Waltham Abbey the other day and got up to 30mpg at 80 which was impressive but as i said it dosent seen to matter £65 in and 280-300 miles out. I only have 11k on the clock
DJ Syxx
Depends on the type of driving, state of your engine if it hasn't been serviced, tyre pressures, using AC etc. Lots of variables. On my 330 in town driving I average 20mpg, open roads like motorways about 35mpg. Petrol is a killer but thats the price of driving a nice motor. DonB
Sounds about right, my 325 gets about the same.
nathanwest
i fill mine up, costs about £58 and does about 325 miles per tank... abit of mixed driving
Jorge-
I filled mine up for the first time last week, I do 4 miles a day to and from work each way, on a roads and it averages around 23mpg... so that your's seems okay. With remaps, I was lead to believe they will increase MPG as you will get to speed faster, and then can drop it into 5th and cruise along, but that is completely dependant on how you drive it! das_flo
I average between 18 and 21mpg, all urban driving. This is using V-power too.
Daz 330 Cs
i fill mine up, costs about £58 and does about 325 miles per tank... abit of mixed driving £58 to fill it ? You got a smaller tank the the rest of us then ?
simonlpearce
OP id say your figures are not far from correct, maybe if you do more motorway miles you could get this upped a little...

Jags
Tbh, I dont really do the 'how much mpg to a £X' - when the light comes on, I put it in lol. I think poor MPG is a good sacrifice to drive a 330Ci Sport.
autosri
If you want a nice car you have to pay for it normaly in more ways than one if you want lots of miles to he gallon go diesel or small engined cars
Rob-
If you're handy with a spanner you could fit an lpg kit. This would see quicker money savings than a remap. Plus you'd pay less road tax. Maybe get one with a manual change-over so when you feel like giving it the beans you can still burn petrol.

Jay.
280-300 miles from 65 quid seems about right for a 330. like others have said, theres no way your gonna get big gains from a 3 litre petrol engine in the MPG department, its still always going to be around that figure, economy is a 318 or 320d. bodyboarder
I dont think the 330 is that bad on fuel really , considering it is a 3 litre ! I am getting about 300 to a tank. My wifes beetle only gets about 300 and thats only a 1.8 litre !
nathanwest
£58 to fill it ? You got a smaller tank the the rest of us then ? i dont let my tank get fully empty clearly

RickyZ
i usually let it get down to about 20/30 mile range on the ODC and then fill her up X2, is this bad
Daz 330 Cs
X2, is this bad About the same here . Sometimes i fill it from a 1/4 of a tank Its probably not best to leave it much lower than a range of 20 miles
