andydavey
Took my car (1999 E46 328CI) into BMW today to have a few bits done on it, and they informed me I had a crack in one of my rear rims (no doubt due to all the bloody potholes round here). Got home and jacked the car up and sure enough it does have a crack, it starts about 1cm in on the inside of the rim, and goes round and down to where it meets the tyre. Not very deep at all (only really noticed it due to the dirt in it), and barely catches your nail as you run it over it. With this in mind, I have a couple of questions: - Does it sound like it can be fixed (I know it's a bit hard without pictures)? - If not and I need to replace it, is there an easy way to tell the offset and width of the rim without taking the tyre off, or get the BMW part number for it? There's a few on eBay, but some are listed as 8x18" ET30 and some 8.5x18" ET50. Did they make them in different sizes, or is it just a mistake in some of the listings? What would I be more likely to have (I believe they were fitted as a factory extra)? Cheers, Andy
