rick323
butt matt black looks better than shadow-line. on a silver car anyway. if my car was black i would have the shiney black ones. wonder what they would look like in titan silver all colour coded? DJ Syxx
the black trim sets are all over £150 for used stuff, cant find them cheaper anywhere Tried Quarry Motors? Should be no more than £110-120 tops.
rick323
just fitted my black trims this morning, well chuffed. went for the shadow line ones in the end as i picked a set up for £100 delivered, they were in pretty good condition too more than happy with the result! this guide was a great help!!! although in patches, the black trims have wierd stains, like when you breath on glass? except it doesnt come off, what has everyone else used to clean theres? Nimraynn
Nice write up, this is to be one of the first things I do when I get my coupe as I absolutely hate the chrome and it's quite tarnished anyway... One question I have though is, can the car be driven without these trims on? Is there enough seal to stop water/dirt getting inside the car, or should the car not really be driven with these off? I was thinking of getting the existing chrome trims carbon dipped and the place I'm taking it to say they could take up to a week to complete. Thanks. DJ Syxx
I wouldn't drive the car with those trims off specially in this weather!
Nimraynn
Fair play, I take it they hold the seals in place? I'll see if I can get a second hand set to get dipped then

rick323
IIRC you have to pull the rubber seals out the way to get to the screws.

MRyan
Does anyone happen to know if the painted strip can be seperated from the rubber part on the piece of trim that runs along the rear window? Reason being ive just got the set I purchased on ebay and on the new set that one piece of rubber is fairly destroyed - but on my existing chrome bits the rubbers in good condition! If not - any ideas on how to rectify it? Half of it has fallen off (the rubber)
