Ratting A Rover 25

Recommended Posts

I kinda have a Rover 25 2.0TD which isnt really being used at the moment. Parts are dirt cheap and the car will pass an MOT no problem, just needs a new backbox which i have sourced for £15 or £30 for a fancy one with chrome tailpipes!!!

Just wandered what to do with it, feel free to chime in with ideas?

Im really tempted to get some marine paint or camo it just for s***s and giggles. Anyone got any other ideas?

I know there is plenty you can do to the engine including larger injectors, upping the boost on the turbo, de-cat pipe etc etc most of which can be done for pennies. There is no real point to what im doing, other than just for fun. If i dont do something to the car it will end up at the breakers anyway so why not have some fun.

Not a fan of the whole forced rat look... take a look on www.rat-look.com for ideas though.

Matt green camo paint can look pretty cool though on the right car with some polished wheels.

My mate Harvey passed away a few months ago, and I just (2 weeks ago) sold his T plate 99 1.6 Rover 25 (rusty in places, cracked windscreen, tracking way out, battery dead, no MOT, 1 month tax) for £400.

I never thought i'd get anywhere near that considering what you can get for £500 these days!

I remember seeing a car once totally covered in playing cards. Used like 20 boxes of £1 cards and some glue. Do that

Now thats quite a cool idea, would have to wrap it in clear vinyl (sellotape) to keep them from flying of on my world landspeed record attempt!

I want these!!!!

Waaaaay out of my budget though!

Just had a look at that one on just stance and agree its not really suited to the car. Just need something that will tuck nicely under the arch once she is slammed, lol.

Cover it with e46zone stickers!

mit that would cost more than having the whole thing sprayed!!!

Does it have the same engine as the 320d? Or was that just the larger rovers?

Anyway, dont you have any black vinyl left? Wrap it with that. Or get a full carbon effect wrap

It has an L Series engine if that is any help, pretty sure its not BMW quality though...

Unfortunately i dont have any Matt vinyl left, in fact i have run out. Having almost completed the wrap though i think a paint roller and some marine paint would be a lot easier and quicker!
