Boot button

Recommended Posts

As above really, can i??...its a pain in the bum having to turn the engine off and remove the keys to press the button when i want to go into the boot, is the wiring there behind the kick plates to plug a switch in???

Ive tried turning the key in the bootlock to see if it comes open when i unlock the car, but nothing, the bott only opens on the button.

if you have a multimeter you could, once removed, put a current across the terminals and press the boot button, if it gives a current through it, its somewhere else in the system, could be the fuse etc.

i removed one on my dads car because it wasn't colour coded (the strip above it) and it wasnt hard to change

I keep meaning to look into retro fitting a front boot release button, but have not got round to it yet ;)

As for your boot button, I am sure you can switch that rear button on and off depending on which way you have turned the lock ;)

i take it there is no way of def telling if its that, if not, ill be down stealers on weekend, easy to change??

Straight forward job..held on with Torx screw's. then a multi plug inside..

To types of handles for the coupe..

I think will you pay more than 35 quid for one..as they are a sealed unit..and also contain a pressure pad...e-bay or fabdirect would be your best place..

I'd try this first mind in case its just a case of being unlucked the same way out of habit which just happens to be the wrong way to enable the unlock strip.

Though i'm going on dicky's word for this as i didnt actually know it would do that lol :D

the car is on valet mode or has been programmed not to open when you unlock the car. try unlocking or postioning it on valet mode the glove box lock and then try it. might seem silly but some ppl have told me there valet mode is there and not on the boot key. if that does not work. you could get your key programmed maybe to unlock boot whn u unlock car.

Yes this isnt how it should be , i can unlock using the button in the car , and go round and open the boot , with the engine still running . Then when i drive off everything will Auto lock again .

snap, although now ive got auto lock on driveaway i keep forgetting to unlock the whole car before i go to the boot. DOH!

I can open mine by pressing the switch under the number plate light section or by pressing the button on my key. I dont have to turn the ignition off or anything else, why are poeple havng so many problems? Surely the cars are all the same??

yeah you can... but if you lock the car (by auto locking at going over 5mph or 10mph or whatever) or using the door lock button then just open door, the boot stays locked.

so just unlock car with the lock/unlock button and it should work fine....
