Justin Posted November 3, 2011 Report Share Posted November 3, 2011 Well I haven't been on here for a while due to some issues at work (only normally go on during work hours) but on Monday I found out I will be made redundant at the end of the month due to the company I work for going bankrupt! It's been all over the press if anyone follows the business news! So unfortunately I will probably be selling the car n buying a cheapy to keep me mobile as I will need to save the pennies.. though if I can find a new job quick enough I'm definately hanging on to her! Hope you guys won't mind me staying active on here if I sell the BM as this forum is by far the best I've been on and there is always something to keep me amused Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A couple of mates who got made redundant came off pretty well with a redundancy payout and a new job which pays a decent amount more too! Such a shame to see a 250 odd year old company destroyed by one man's mistake! I've been here 4 and a half years (since I left school) and it feels like its all I know.. but there are people who have been here 30, even 40 plus years and I can't imagine what its like for them. So keep your head up The company has filed for bankruptcy protection n all that so doubt I will get anything more than statutory redundancy, which is a weeks pay for every year you have been there.. so pretty much a months pay for me! He left about 8 months ago as he got wind something wasn't right when he went on a business trip to Asia and heard some mutterings. Set up his own company now and is doing ok. I was based between there and a DR site in Kings Hill until they moved to Canary Wharf (I'm just in KH now) but I might know them or know of them... I was out of work for 5 weeks, and loved every minute of being sat on my arse claiming Job Seekers. My dad works for a company in Bromley now (although mainly works from home) and he was saying he was going to keep an eye out for something but I'm really not sure if I want to stay in the financial sector or not.. problem is all the jobs which do interest me are generally paying quite a bit less than what I'm on atm.
