Jay.
ok so the lovley 3 lights lit up on the dash this morning, wont go out. Know its one of the fronts as the rear one does the speedo & the speedo still works. Firstly, is the Meyle ones ok ? I seen theyre 40 quid off ebay & theres some going up to 80 quid. i know the meyle HD bushes are sound so presume the sensors are gonna be ok too? And secondly is it just a plug & play item or will i need INPA or some sort of OBD plug in to reset it? TIA Jay.
CliffThomson
Yes, the Meyle ones will be ok. Not a hard job to fit, single bolt usually. Watch because sometimes they sieze in and you'll need to drill or dremel them out. Not a fun job. Soak well with WD40 first, and take your time wriggling it out. From my experience the £12 ones off ebay work just fine too. All they are is a magnet and coil of wire after all.... Doesn't need to be reset, once the ECU gets good signal from all 4 sensors the light will go out. Hope that helps. Jay.

PeterH
Have you plugged it in Jaybee? I had the same lights and it was the steering angle sensor...
Jay.
Have you plugged it in Jaybee? I had the same lights and it was the steering angle sensor... No mate not yet, it could well be that - never thought of that! Is that a bitch to replace?
PeterH
I didn't have to replace, just had to reset it. The story with mine was i had a front wheel alignment done agggeeesss ago and didn't reset it, months laterm the 3 light thing happened and I thought it was the abs/speed sensor but when plugged in it was the steering angle sensor. Got Mint from here to reset it and it's never come back on. Not saying it is that sensor but could be a possibility. Damn that's my good deed done for today. Where's tricksters topic? Jay.
Thanks mate. Hopefully RichD can get his INPA software on it for me this week. V8OW
Is your cruise control working? If not it's likely to be the rear right wheel sensor. I fitted one last week, not too complicated but a huge pain to dig the old one out! Took me ages. It might also be worth checking which version you need, as I think there were 3 types depending on build date.

Well i just typed my reg into the Eurocarparts part finder, i presume they'll give me the correct one off that right? Cheers
V8OW
Sorry yeah rear driver side. If you can get it plugged into INPA it should tell you exactly. I ended up getting mine for £30 from GSF, but it might have been cheaper as its pre Sept 01.

If the cruise aint workin then i'll take a chance on it being that as, as you say, the cruise is controleed of the rear right sensor. for £12 from ECP its worth a gamble haha

Jay.
Hi all had the car plugged in its thrown up 3 errors: Pressure sensor 2 Steering angle sensor (internal) Wheel speed sensor position front right Are we thinking the multitude of errors are due to the wheel speed (abs) sensor? Cheers
Rich_D
Could be... Change that ABS sensor, reset the fault codes and see what happens
CliffThomson
Possibly 2 issues there. Put new sensor in, reset and reset steering angle. Should fix most of it. The pressure sensor one....Could also be ABS related, but enough stored codes will throw errors, and show lights so eliminating 2 out of 3 might be enough so sort it.
