Proffitt
I'm speaking from experience with the e46 if you want to ruin the car you have buy the cheap ones, if you want enjoy your car and love it everytime you drive it.... Go decent. Soon as I finish maintenance work and a few cosmetics I will be buying quality for it next even though she is a slow derv. Suspension, tyres, brakes most important part of a car. On my previous e46 325 I bought a second hand set of JOM coilovers and had them set really low. Apart from speed bumps I did not notice a massive difference to the ride quality. Okay, they were not as comfy as the bmw sport suspension but they weren't horrible! Like Jay, i don't take my car to the limits or do track days so for the price of the JOM's they were great and well worth the money. If I was into modifing at the moment I would be purchasing another set for my 320cd Jay. and Blair

Rob_SRi
A bit different to 200-250 quid coilovers.... Plus with the modifications the the roll bars and the extra stiffness supplied by your cage on a mid range set of coilovers that you bought for the Clio, it should handle pretty well..... I had Gaz which although not the gold class were very good. In comparison to a Clio running raceland go faster cheap ass coilovers I can say the difference was substantial and I felt fearful of my life at higher speeds.... Suspension, tyres, brakes most important part of a car. sorry should of explained.. what i mean by that is my FK silverlines that i bought and was impressed with so I cant see why the FK Streets would be too bad but i'm looking at all options here just getting advice because I dont like skimping on things! HSDs do look rather tasty! we shall see need to pick the car up first! although my mouse is currently poised over the buy it now button on some LED rear lights... ...its began I should just admit I have a problem with messing with cars! Rob_SRi
It's home...!! Excuse the iPhone pics I'm going to get the DSLR out tomorrow and get some proper photos for here really pleased with it.. Spent today doing the following; iPod lead front silvervisons (no point in rear as my led lights should be on their way to me at the moment) Golf tea mod - sounds better but still want to get that mid box out when I can actually drive it n get it to John Ashley Exhausts in Walsall Good clean inside and out.. Not paint correction yet too cold and will spend a day down at my mates company 'Detail UK' for some treatment and a whole host of different products to get it mirror finish can't wait cause the paint is pretty damn good at the moment but will come up brilliantly with some love..! Used some gliptone liquid leather kit on the seats.. And wow.. Go out and buy this stuff immediately it's bloody fantastic..! Wish I had took some before images but il snap some pics tomorrow of the end result. The bolsters which were starting to look a little tired now look black and fresh again Oh and I cleaned the key.. Yes I'm sad... Car is starting to look much better already.. Next is: Wheel refurb (another trip to detail uk) for some minor scuffs and a new gear knob and it will be damn near mint condition! Then it's time for lows black grills and xenon retrofit.. With or without angel eyes I'm still undecided.. ! Started pondering over making an induction kit up today too.. We'll see..! Rob_SRi
went to town today spent almost £100 in halfords.. now Id never usually do this it made me cringe seeing that on the till but I had some christmas/birthday vouchers to spend.. alot of them!!! I think when people know you like cars it seems to be the automatic gift of choice!!.. im sure people can relate to that!! also.. buckets + sponges.. I seem to be mounting up a bucket collection as people know I like to have a clean car lol! it was all on stupid stuff like tyre foam, tax disc holder, spray paint (sand paper primer laquer etc), air freshners, numberplate fixers, some cleaning stuff and some rubber grommets to tidy up my Ipod install.. but all bits that will come in handy over the next few days when I get bored and decide to take something apart on the car! when I got back I gave the car a quick wipe down again.. as it had been raining since my little cleaning session yesterday.. and took some snaps.. my LED rear lights should be arriving tomorrow according to the web tracking and I have some metal pressed numberplates on the way too (hence the need for new fixings!!) so there will be a few more shots in the next few days also silver vision bulbs in say goodbye to the old lights! as you can see on this pic the rear boot lights are starting to let a little bit of water in and looking a bit tired so definitely time for a refresh badge clean Gliptone goodness..! I really wish I had a before shot cause the difference is incredible this is the only other thing I really want to change quite quickly.. the only bit of obvious wear on the car.. probably go for the clubsport knob when I have a spare £60 or whatever they are floating about !! :// Edited February 27, 2013 by Rob_SRi Rob_ and Aaron_d95

Jay.
Go for 15mm all round mate. I had 20mm all round on my last e46 and it rubbed at the rear with standard 255 tyres so i had to get 225/40's like the front now i get no rubbing even with quite silly lows
