Greig
What's the benefits of having your egr deleted on the 320d? Are there performance gains or is it purely to stop the inlet clogging up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mengwalton
A lot of benefits. EGR is like long term suicide for the engine. Best to search there's been a few threads. Basically it stops crap from the exhaust going back into the intake and gunking it all up Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Greig
Yeah I know it just throws all the crap back into the engine but wasn't sure if there was performance benefits or not. I have a 2004 320d and attempted to blank the egr off by using a brass washer but the engine management light came on so I took it back out. Might see about having it deleted then. Any idea how much it costs? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bungers
Most people have them mapped out; it's the only way to stop the light.
Gravy
Does this do anything negative to the vehicle? I cleaned mine out and it made a day and night difference!
dooge
No differences other than a minutely better pickup and peace of mind. I have an Allard EGR delete kit fitted and bar the EML light on the dash it drives as normal. Its part of a list of things that add up to a better driving and healthier car in my opinion. The other bits are remove the CDV, add a bigger clutch stop, use better quality diesel or add some 2 stroke oil, remove the swirl flaps, clean the inlet manifold and fit a decat. A remap is the final bit. James B

Laziness has got the better of me though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Blocked my EGR a couple weeks ago now and every time I put my foot down I get no black smoke, whereas before I'd get it nearly every time, piece of mind also knowing that I'm not putting all that black smoke back in to the engine! Going to clean my inlet manifold and EGR right out soon
rasa
never heard of 2 stroke in your diesel, used to put 170ml into £60 worth of diesel, helps to lubricate fuel pump and injectors, also will slightly improve mpg, there is a arguement against it putting a waxing on injectors, but have never heard of anyone having this problem, i was getting 2-3 mpg mmore after about the 3rd time i had put it in, and at £2 per 500ml was cheap, it has to be a low ash formula, morrisons was the place it bought it from
