Good stuff, I chickened out of the manifold for the same reason!

You may want to look at your EGR unless you've already sorted that, and if you have INPA you may want to check your injectors are all ok.

Oh, don't forget the breather. Actually one of my recent updates on my thread are some do's for a dusk. I haven't done a decay yet, sounds like it may not be worth it .....

P.s you may want to move this thread to the photo zone

So after owning the car for around 6 months I had decided that a remap was on the cards! But before Hand I wanted to make sure that the vehicle was running how it should be and everything was in check. I went ahead and ordered a BMTECHNIC OBD cable and dis/inpa software.

Can't remember how much it was now but I think it was a reasonable price.

That arrived within a few days and seems like a good robust lead and was really easy to use and instructions very easy to follow. Once I'd installed software and had a fiddle i set about plugging it in to the car and seeing what,if any faults showed up..I had 2 glow plug faults come up. But apart from that everything was sweet! I enquired with bmw for 6 replacements along with glow plug relay and that were on another planet and came back with a silly amount. So I went about ordering 6x beru (oe) plugs and relay from eurocarparts for a third of the price!

Had my car booked in with a mate to change the 6x glow plugs and relay but he could only change 4 plugs as 2 of them were seized in. They still remain seized in now unfortunately. Maybe one day I will address this but head will have to come off so am going to leave that for now.

I had also noticed recently that the temperature of the engine would take about 10 miles before it got upto temperature and with a little investigating I found it out to be the main thermostat. I also changed the egr thermostat at the same time. I attempted the main thermostat myself but I could not with all my effort get the viscous fan coupling off. Before anyone says It, yes I do know that it is a reverse thread and was not tightening it up!!! So back to the garage for them to do the job.. Got the car back at the end of the day and car was running perfectly..

I had Bmtechnic on my old laptop and wanted to transfer it to my toughbook after a few day of my mate trying it he said he couldn't do it so I tried looking for it but

I thought you couldn't buy anymore

Looks good.....in the best colour as well

Sent from my Lumia 1520 using Tapatalk (with free typos)

I had my heart set on either graphite grey or the silver grey but in my opinion I much prefer the graphite grey now and you don't really see as many of them
