Lowering springs

Recommended Posts

So... after going to the blackbush meet on last saturday the idea of lowering my car has been on my mind everytime i walk past my car at work. I dont know if this is a stupid question, but can i just put lowering springs in and call it quits with the current msport shocks (how much drop can i have without changing the shocks so they dont bottom out) and will just putting lowered springs in cause any stress or strain on any other parts?

Thanks guys! 6620a96e0a46f8ad0b78200d893cbb1b.jpg - an upsetting amount of arch gap :(

You can fit an Eibach spring kit with standard shocks, but of you're running standard shocks, good chance they're done for anyway. Unless you've recently replaced all four?

There is a Bilstein/Eibach shock and spring set you can go for. Good chance to check all the other bushes and replace as required.

Germany is the cheapest place to buy the Bilstein/Eibach from. A quick forum search should give you the website, if not, i can dig it out later for you.

I've got Eibach springs on my standard M-sport shocks with Style 32 wheels and imo the ride height after a good few months has settled really nicely. It actually rides quite nicely too (almost OEM) and no nasty bunny hopping you get with cheaper springs.

I highly recommend the Eibach springs route, I certainly don't regret it and am pleased with the ride height.

I fitted genuine AC Schnitzer lowering springs to my last E46. My local BMW dealer did me a good price on them and amazingly they made no difference to how the car rode but it really did improve the handling. The stance was perfect too as I had genuine M3 alloys fitted.

Had my sportlines fitted a week ago and very pleased with them, no where near as low as I thought it would be but the arch gap is small now which is what I was after! As for ride not a lot of difference to oem, a bit stiffer tho but feels a lot nicer to corner with now, very pleased!! [emoji106]

Springs don't lower them enough, I've had eibach pro and sport lines and they don't drop to my personal desired ride height, I went for coilovers couple year back had a few sets as I've had a few e46's and the ride isn't much worse than lowered springs

this is my coupe lowered on coilovers to my desired ride hieght

I want to order the sportline springs for my 330ci automatic. The webshops say eibach sportline 330ci (not for automatic). This means no springs made for my car. I see the weight difference between the manual and auto is 35 kilogram. Will this give problems? The springs should just fit right? Just te weight that's bothering me... Cheers

Yours will look something like this, ( my Cs )

Always liked your old CS, was part of the reason I got the Ispiri's in a similar style, look so good. I presume the wheels were 19's?

What offsets were they and what size tyres did you fit?

If I can get my Imola sitting like that with some eibach springs I'll be well chuffed.
