Introduce yourself

Recommended Posts

Hello to everyone, not really a forum type person but it seems this one has changed my mind, had some very useful information in the past couple of weeks so i decided to join and do this intro.

I am Dave, live in Royston Herts and lucky enough to have a lovely missus and 2 boys. Work in St Albans as maintenance manager at a private school.

I am a self confessed petrol head and had a good few interesting cars and bikes of which 3 were/are Bavaria Motor Works flavour. My first was a modified E30 325 touring, then a E46 325ci and now i have a E46 330cd. I like this car alot, does everything i want and more.

Done a few bits to it including a remap, work in progress is all i am saying...............

P.S. how the hell do you post pics on here, just keeps saying they are too big ???????????

Hi All,

My name is Bence (Ben for short in English). I'm 30, living and working in London as a software engineer (web), entrepreneur. I'm originally from Budapest, Hungary.

I have a 325 Ci which I bought in December 2015 in a bit of a worn state. Unfortunately, I'm not a mechanic/engineer myself so I'm always looking for a garage to do the things and for friendly people who can help me with this car as a project.

Plan is to turn this car into an excellent beginner level and practice drift/track car, I have all sorts of ideas I need help with. That being said, I'd like to keep the looks as close to the factory E46 looks as possible.

Have fun all!

Hello

Based in Cardiff and just recently bought a 2002 e46 320i, manual in Topaz blue.

Having owned Volvos for a few years, I can't believe I've waited this long to get a Bmw! Previously owning a E30 many years ago. A lot has changed since then!!

Nice to see a forum dedicated to a specific model, makes asking and finding info much easier.

Hi, just bought a 320d touring, been looking for ages and had to settle for a non m sport facelift as all the m sport ive looked at have been tatty, this is clean and low miles, but its only an es.. Will be doing loads of bits to it over time.. swirl flaps will be one of the first things.

Hi, I'm Gus from Aberdeenshire.  I run a £500 330Ci from 2002.  It's currently sitting at +120,000 miles and without an mot while I replace the brake lines and try and sort out the cooling fan.  Hopefully find some info on the forum for that tho.

Plans for the car was to have as much fun as possible without busting the bank, it's already provided some highly amusing motoring!

Here's proof that pictures on the internet can look waaaay better than things in real life:

Hello,

I'm James, despite having an E36 catch on fire I thought I'd buy another BMW 5 years ago, this is my E46 318CI from Autovouge, it still looks like this, but is undergoing several changes, Msport bumper on the rear and a set of new coils and shocks, I'm do all the work myself on the car, so while living in london I just pop back to Bham on the odd weekend to tart it up and do things to it. Should think about getting one with a bigger engine, but this one is solid, all about the looks for me at the moment, until I have a spare 10k that is haha

I'm 26, live in London, work on 'The Grand Tour' as a Researcher, DJ on the weekends here too.

Been here since 2013, but not been active, I'M BACK! haha

Hello.

Dave here from the North East.  Currently driving a 2002 E46 325 Ci M sport coupe in Titan Silver. 100k on the clock when i purchased the car now on 120k

IMG_3521_zpsieqv6uhr.jpg

Purchased the car in Feb 16 for £1200 with the engine management light on once i had a look at the codes it was pointing to a MAF issue after i replaced the maf all issues were gone.

Since purchase i took so preemptive measures after this being my 3rd Bmw i thought i would tackle the problem areas i have replaced the following

Radiator

Water pump

Expansion tank

Thermostat

CCV & hoses

Lower wishbone bushes

Wings X2

Rocker Cover Gasket.

See you lot in the forums

Hi,

I'm Marcel and I am from Cape Town, South Africa.

I'm married with two kids and two grand-kids that are my life.

I am a print Technologist at a Beverage can-making plant.

I drive a E46 320i Msport Auto and my other love is a Suzuki SV 1000.

No mods done as the 320i was never and will never be a performance vehicle so i'm more into audio ( changed everything already) and style and next up will be a set of Style 67 rims which i have already, some coil-over to correct the ride height and maybe change the rear silencer to a more free-flowing box to add a bit of tone.

That's it from me and hope to find some valuable information on the site.

Cheers,

Marcel.

Hi All,

Just picked up what is now my second e46 last sunday, a clean example ( relatively ) low milage 105k 04 plate 320d sport tourer.

Loving the torque and the MPG so far - coming from a MKV GTi.

i'm based in west sussex and i'm looking forward to completing a few subtle exterior / interior mods (like some bloody cup holders....) and gerneal self servicing the mechanical apects and doing a re-map.

I have the car booked in with Walkers Autotech, a local BMW specialist, to get the dreaded swirl flaps removed! anything else i should do staight off?

thanks,

Rhys

My name's Tim Scott, and I'm on my second E46 330i Touring.

I wouldn't have anything else for the miles i do and kit I carry in the course of my job (car photographer).

Its standard with lots of factory accessories but has some very high-end audio in it. in the next few days, I'll be putting up the audio I took out of my previous E46 when I sold it, all really good kit (JL Audio components for the front, Hertz speakers, alpine head unit etc.)

Here are a couple of shots of my car doing one of the things it does well - towing heavy, expensive old race cars !
