Sam
I've not gone and bought a new car, or even done any mods. But they are going to cost me a fortune this month. E30 MOT £50 - Failed, so I need to buy E30 rear springs £50. While I'm doing work on it, it needs a new batterys, thats E30 Battery £50. Oh, it needed tax this month too, I only done 6 months, as I may sell it, E30 Tax £115. Hopfully thats it covered. But, the Mini needs 2 new tyres, badly. I'm not going to be cheap here, so that's £200 for both. As we're on a Multicar insurance policy, both cars need insurance at the end of the month, I reckon thats the best part of £1k. £1465! Had a month like that in August. 2 new rears £420 Front discs and pads £390 New battery £125 (raped as I was stranded and Halfords was the nearest place) Tax £245 At least I have a breather now until my inspection 2 ! Sam
After looking, seems its more like £250 for 2 tyres. That nudges it just over £1500.
mit
I had something similar this month, checked my card statement to see my insurance company had auto-renewed my insurance at £1500, so I did loads of phoning around and decided it was best to stick with them (this is because of my stupid accident a couple of months ago). Had a puncture and replaced 2 tyres, one had a slow puncture and had to replace it again so 3 new tyres... road tax due at the end of the month... and probably MOT too. So in a month I'm spending about half the value of my car... on my car. D'oh!
Gaz
Mikey, how much do you think the Insp 2 is going to be on an M? I've got my Insp 2 coming soon and I'm dreading it enough!

All the subscription money should help Sam But on a serious note, I know the feeling. I was on holdiay for August (v.expensive), then came back to have to do 2 MOTs, including 1 new tyre, and new rear discs, pads, shoes. Also need insurance for mrs car this month. And I moved house, and need to sort energy inspections etc on the old place before I can rent it out. Just when you think it is going to be a cost effective month - it all adds up. Mikey
Mikey, how much do you think the Insp 2 is going to be on an M? I've got my Insp 2 coming soon and I'm dreading it enough! Insp 2 on yours isn't major £££'s. Actually Wayside are quoting £319 for an insp 2 for a 6 pot. They are also the cheapest main dealer I've found for an insp 2 for the ///M at £799 so if I stay down the BMW service route rather than Indy I will be taking it there. My local stealer wants £1100 ! I moved just under 4 months ago, we still seem to be spending load on stuff for the house. I've had 2 holidays last month (My first 2 this year), so that was a big drain! Now this! I've then got to pay for the holiday I've book at new years. Its the girlfriends birthday tomorrow... When does it stopppppppppp

Yep, that's what they quoted me when I took it in for an oil service ! I will try and see if they do a price match when the time comes rather than going up to MK. Not fussed if I have to as I can crash at my friends who live in Middleton.

simonlpearce
I know this feeling... E46 Tax £230.00 E46 MOT £27.50 (Pass) E46 Ins £730.00 Plus. R25 Tax £150 R25 MOT £27.50 (Fail) R25 Backbox £50 R25 MOT retest £17 R = Rover And to top it off the fraud squad emptied my account at one point which was slightly worrying, luckily its all been returned to me. They didnt half make me feel like the criminal though. PS - Sam i know i owe you some money for stickers, will get round to sorting it just need to keep an eye on things for the next week. Matt_330CI
I had to give my mum £1,400 this month. £1,000 next month. £1,000 in November. That kinda hurts but it made sense instead of buying a Convertible in December. Gaz - Mstyle inspection 2 = £275 As for £800 being not bad for an M3 - they dont actually "do" alot. Most of it is visually inspecting things lol. The only real hard work is taking the wheels off and pads out to inspect the brakes. I dont even think the inspection 2 includes plugs and leads and other general service parts!
Aidan316i
£1500 or so on the 316i during summertime Inspection II parts (BMW) Oil (Castol £40) Water Pump (BMW) Expansion Tank (BMW) Thermostat (BMW) Bushings (Powerflex) Front Pads (330i Red Stuff) Rear Pads (BMW) MOT (£30) Bodywork (M Sport Bumper Flushed with sideskirts fitted & painted) Horn (£10) Brake Pipes (Cant remember) There is bound to be more in there i've missed out, but it was a very very dear 2 months or so

Inspec 2 on a ///M is a 2 days service inc plugs, oil, air filter, oil filter, gearbox oil change plus valve settings are checked and set! Brakes pads and disc's checked and a full vehicle health check! Its a 2 day service as the valve settings have to be done from cold!
