DC11 was the first show that SW:UK have attended as a community, and whilst some guys arrived later and couldn't get over to our show area the turnout was still fantastic, and half the UK members were still around on other stands if not showing with us. I was worried this show would be a write off after seeing the weather forecast all week, checking it hourly for the last few days hoping for the sunshine icon to appear next to 'Sunday', but alas it never changed and then after running out in between constant showers on Saturday to get a layer of wax on the car in preparation for it I feared the worst. Skip to the show and wow, I was speechless at it. A few negative comments floated around after DC10 last year about it being disorganised and generally a mess, today was none of that. Gates opened up at 7am and by the time our convoy arrived at 8.30 half the fields were full, then by 10am the line up to the entrance was immense, endless VWs, BMWs and Audis. Cars overflowing from the fields and parked up on every piece of grass and spare concrete around the airfield. It was an all round great show. Amazing atmosphere, amazing cars, amazing people. Nearly every corner of the field I walked to there was someone new to talk to that I recognised from an earlier StanceWorks meet or someone I've known online for a while but never met. The cars were on another level too, having never been at a VW show before I was not sure what to expect really but those guys are on another level, every car was flawless. So many cars there today from all sorts and were done so well. Was good to see all sorts as opposed to just a BM only show. It was bloody windy though! Although have to say im still not a fan of the "so low i've gotta tuck the wheel under the arch" look.. For me the last White Audi Avant has the best stance..
