got igo installed..

seesm to be ok, but even though it knows im moving ( ie it updates the road im on as i drive ) it never tells me what speed im doing, ( its always 0, have reinstalled but no joy.

Tried getting igo to navigate and its seems ok, altough the bird speaking is on speed.. most of her word clip so for some junctions like round abouts, its impossible to tell what she means without looking at the screen..

also,is there a way to reduce her volume? if your listening to sd card music which seems to be a bit lower volume than the radio, when dorris ( thats what ive called her ) barks her orders i nearly have a heart attack as shes soo loud...

In igo settings, scroll down and there are volume options.

I can't have a woman giving me directions, I selected Boris :)jk. the voices do clip a bit, but they do on my mates android phone too, he says its to do with the buffer overflow rate. Going to do some digging to see if there is a setting for this somewhere. I'm also looking for new voice packs for a bit of a laugh

just downloaded waze and navfree via the andrive..

waze is a good program on my iphone but keeps crashing on the andrive which is a shame.

navfree installed after a 400mb map pack downloaded, will see how that perfoms on a roadtest, its not crashed so looks hopeful

also, got the DTV working, re tuned it and have istalled the ariel top right drivers side.. seems ok again will see how it plays on the move..

i fed my dtv aerial up the passenger column and slipped it into the passengers sun visor where the elastic strap is, its out of the away and i can angle it to get better reception if needed

so, having had good drive using several sat navs, there would seem to be an issue with the MPH being recored..ie it isnt. Even the GPS test stays at 0mph.

yes the gps antenna is under the dash, but that should be ok. will try it inview of the sky but im not sure why that would make a difference.

any idea bout the make of the gps antenna??

anyway, deleted waze as kept crashing, navfree lost gps alot, and igo i find hard to use..

will keep trying..

They come with Google Navigation preinstalled. If you need an offline solution, you can download one from the market. Andrive are currently working on providing software by partnering up with a leading sat nav software company.

Look at it like a smart phone or the like. They come with GPS hardware, but you must purchase turn by turn nav seperately.

So I've relocated the gps antenna...no joy even drove around with it out the window..still showing 0 mph...any suggestions ?

Sounds very odd as it is updating position....id suggest unscrewing the antenna and trying screwing it in harder? The software is the bit that updates the speed readings, not the GPS chip.

Actually mintimperial its the GPS chip, not software using the Doppler shift in signals received from GPS satellites to calculate the speed. All the software does is read the info from the chip via an API. Distance/Time calculations are too inaccurate for this function.

My speed also always measures zero.

Ive been testing the GPS info on my Andrive today and its way off when comparing co-ordinates with my phone and tablet.

Its also reading elevation completely incorrectly.

The end result is that its causing Igo/Copilot to report me going the wrong way, and frequently puts me on streets running parrallel to where I actually am causing both the softare, and myself significant issues. It cant be used to navigate.

It also appears to be the cause of Co-Pilot randomly stopping and not updating my position.

Ive tested the unit alongside both my phone, a HTC One X, and my tablet, a Motorola Xoom, both running the same GPS solutions as the Andrive, both my phone and tablets work and have similar long/lat/elevation readings, the Andrive however is out.

I have replaced the GPS Arial and the new arial is doing the same too.

Unfortunately Im starting to suspect the Andrive unit itself.

Also, Google Navigation does not work, its been quoted to be the GPS solution that ships with the unit, and considering its a google application I would have expected it to work.

I have contacted Andrive already about my GPS issues and they have said that because it locks on theres nothing wrong with it, but from my testing I disagree.

I think the unit is defective and will be contacting support shortly.

Done that...watched the gps signal drop and re screwed it in...nothing. It's both the same on gps test and any of the sat nav....

Thats exactly why I ordered one..the gps connection is very tight...I was hoping the unit will go back a bit more with a right angle.

Are you sure you guys havent damaged the gps connection? If there isnt much room, you can adjust the gold connector in with a few turns of the nut. Not accusing, just asking, as all of these units were field tested before being sent.

If I didn't it any tighter it would snap...it's done up finger tight as otherwise you risk damage to the connector itself...I'm not trying to bad mouth the unit, just need it to do what I expected it to do...just looking for a solution.

Sorry, probably didnt make myself that clear...totally understand. If there is a fault with your unit/s it will be sorted! I was actually referring to the input on the unit itself, it can be adjusted in slightly by undoing the nut on the unit. moving it in and then tightening again.

Ah. Ok sorry mis understood. Will give that a try when the new gps I've ordered arrives. Ta..

No damage to the unit, treated with kid gloves and treated to a right angled antenna before securing.

The GPS itself sees satellites so its not the antenna. Just the accuracy seems incorrect.

I'm quite happy to provide pictures/videos to demonstrate the issues if required (and to prove no damage).

Also doesnt account for google nav not loading, I notice you reported the same issue with google nav on the old enco thread when you got your unit mint, how did you resolve it?

Hi,

Thats fine guys, If theres a hardware prob, we will get it sorted. TDR, Ive emailed you. Can you send me the vid so I can investigate and contact our manufacturer for clarification. Ive also emailed you.

Dont worry, These things happen and we will get it sorted!

Kind of one reason we were set up in the first place...imagine the arseache if you'd bought from abroad! ;)
