momo Posted May 29, 2013 Report Share Posted May 29, 2013 Next up - get rid of the Coopers and get some sticky tyres on! Just out of curiosity have you ever used Cooper tyres? Not saying they're the best ever but i had eagle f1's on a few years ago and don't see how they're that much better, I've gone round Islands hard in these and they've never let me down and I'm very impressed with them in the wet, but please take in to consideration I don't track the car or drive like a mental person No directly.. As Gaz says above, Cooper own Avon (or vice versa, I knew they were linked somehow) and the tyres you have look similar (from what I can see) to the Avon ZZ3's. I had them up front on mine and never again!! Took ages to bed in, grip was ok but never great.. I don't track my car either but I like to push it every now and then (well within capabilities) and found the ZZ3's just liked to slide instead of grip when I wanted them to grip the most. Now i've got FK452's up front - much better grip I think! But, out back i've got Veredesteins Ultrac Sessantas and I think if I had them up front the grip would get better again as those things are just awesome for the money! Thats interesting, what wheels were you on B0B as I never have to top mine up and the rears are stretched 18 x 8J M3 reps (225/40 tyres) that I bought new, it was only on the Avons though, as soon as I changed to Yokohama tyres they held the pressure. Fully agreed the OEM ones are far better in quality, especially the alloy centre caps, what badges do you have on the car at the moment? Crikey they have gone up a bit! Rebel Posted May 30, 2013 Report Share Posted May 30, 2013 I think those will be fine so long as they are not the locking variety (which those I don't think are). I'm not 100% sure on size without checking but so long as they are tapered and designated as wheel bolts then I think they're fine. Give them a call, they're a helpful enough bunch.
