Jasonkruys' 330D Vert

Recommended Posts

Thought it was about time I put some pictures up of my car! I have fiddled with this and fiddled with that, and made it better IMHO. There are still some things I would like to do, like re-spray the front - the bonnet, wings, and bumper are riddled with chips and Road Rash!

It is a M-Sport 330d Vert, in Sparkling Graphite Metallic, with genuine staggered MV2's. Option wise it has Nav, Bluetooth, TV (freeview), 6 disc changer in the boot, Harmon Kardon. Black Alu Cube, Black Exclusive Leather Futura. Cruise Control, Rear Parking Sensors, Xenon (Auto), Auto Wipers - all the usual fare!

Here is how she was before I started fiddling!

Since then I have done the following:

Exterior:

E-Maps Remap

Ecotune De-Cat

De-Flapped

Blueflame Cat-Back Exhaust

Eibach Pro Springs

Genuine BMW Sport Stubby Aerial

Genuine BMW Peformance Black (Shadowline Gloss) Kidney Grills

Clubsport Front Splitters

15mm Spacers Front and Rear

LED Bulbs - Numberplate, Sidelights

Rear Number Plate Holder

De-Badge

Carbon-style Badges

Carbon-style Wheel Centre Caps

Silver Front Indicator Bulbs

To do - Front end re-spray (including black lower grill), refurb MV2's (Hyper Silver?). Would like folding mirrors, but those damn ribbons......

Interior:

Cupholders in Centre Console

Storm V2 Gear Knob (Titanium finish)

Storm Handbrake Lever (Titanium finish)

Storm Sat Nav Knobs

Stearing Wheel re-trimmed in perforated/nappa leather, M stitching by Jack at Royal.

To do - refurb cube trim, M3 rear view mirror (when one comes along cheap enough!), gaiters with M stitch?

Misc:

Always fiddling around doing various coding such as:

Comfort Opening (drivers window down on double press)

Roof up/down with fob

Lane Changing indicators (3 flashes)

Double Impulse Hazards

American long tone alarm, full beam flash on alarm

Alarm sounds on long press on boot open on fob

Boot open on two presses of button on fob

Visual / Sound confirmation on Lock / unlock

Auto rear demister (comes on at <3°)

Auto lock at 12km/h

Gave her a bit of a clean/polish today as the sun (nearly) came out. Admittedly, I could have done a better job on the interior - I swear it looks better in the flesh! Here are some pictures as she stands now:

Thanks for the kind comments

Having a limited amount of funds available for modding does focus the mind on what is worth doing! So far, for the most part, I have convinced the Mrs that most of the changes were 'required'

Pretty happy with it tbh, the only thing that lets it down is the damn chips! Need to save up for that, and then find somewhere fairly close to do it!

I really do like this car, was fortunate enough to get a good look at it at the Cobham meet. If you ever decide to sell up Jason, make sure you give me first shout :-D

Having a limited amount of funds is no bad thing, less money for buying toot when you get bored.

Re convincing the Mrs that some of the upgrades are required, a supercharger, a good set of coilies, big brakes etc is absolutely ESSENTIAL to you and your family's safety. Imagine a scenario where you're on a quiet deserted stretch of road and all of a sudden out of no where that scarecrow geezer from Jeepers Creepers comes after you, you'll need the extra horses to get away ;)

Thanks for the kind comments guys!

Next mods will be either Wheel refurb, or interior trim re-spray. Both held up by colour decisions!

The interior trim, I want to match with the Storm kit (cannot find anything close enough). The wheels, I am thinking a bit darker - they are too white at the moment, but I appreciate they will look rubbish too dark! I'm thinking TWS Black Chrome perhaps....

3M do a Dinoc Carbon Graphite finish which whilst not the same I don't think would contrast badly. You could order some swatches which if memory serves me correctly are about £1 each or alternatively order the smallest sheet of each of the finishes you like the look of and wrap something small for comparison.

The other thing is to perhaps contact Storm and ask for the colour code (if one exists) or visit a paint specialist with the handbrake or gear knob and see if they are able to mix anything up that might match.

I meant to add... I will wait to see the outcome and once your report is favourable I shall follow suit

Haha, funny you should say that. I have a sample in glove box, which I whip out occasionally to try and like it! Not sold at the moment...

Sent from my Windows Phone 8X by HTC using Tapatalk - excuse typos and bad grammar!

Might be worth buying a small sheet and wrapping a small piece or half of half an interior trim to show the contrast.
