I'm just putting this here. Update Pg 4 :)

Looks absolutely stunning Mikey, I bet you're over the moon with it.

In regards to the on/off in traffic, I'd imagine you could have it coded so that you don't have to turn it off each time you get in the car.

Yeah, I've just ordered some software as miss my mirrors folding on lock etc.

Very nice mate! :)

I wonder if the switch can be reversed? So it's set to off as default but you can switch it on when you want? Just wondering if it'll mess with MOT emissions tests if you switch it off as i'm sure they test idle speeds too?

An idle speed of 'off'/0 would be a fail anyway I imagine!

I follow on of these into work sometimes, and often get stuck in traffic. It sounds great, and the startup noise is pretty nice too.

Enjoy it!

I take it your plate is going on at some stage Winnie?

Yeah, it's still on my old car. The guy is going to buy a plate for himself so planning to do the swap simultaneously. Probably take a couple of weeks.

Won't NCS be able to code it or is it too new ?

I've had to buy a different version of NCS software which covers the E9X series.

It's the cable you need, not just the software, the interface is different

The E46 uses K-Line, the E9X uses D-Can.

Jimmy will sort you out >>> http://www.cable-shack.co.uk/

Ok, so bit of an update for all. Yesterday was a year anniversary of owning my M3 and have been very please with it, not put a foot wrong since have had it apart from a new battery due to lack of use which I managed to wangle through the warranty but other than that have been spot on, always put a smile on my face every time I drove it. About a week and a half ago I got a call from BMW asking me about the car and if I wanted to do a deal with them. initially my response was a straight no but they kept calling and planted the seed in my head. Eventually they came up with a deal which was too good to refuse (they bought my M3 back at what I paid for it last year) in order for me to buy this.

Apologies for the naff phone photos, will get some better ones up when I have a chance. So basically they offered me a good deal as it is a pre registered car with no owners as the previous buyer pulled out so has been sitting around doing nothing and because of that they could shave a hell of a lot of the showroom price as it's not technically 'brand new' so to speak. The spec is maxed out, still playing around with a lot of the toys. Favourite so far is the Head Up Display but i'm sure I'll find others to fall in love with. In comparison to the M3, this thing is a totally different animal. The torque available on this as opposed to the N/A M3 makes it so much more responsive, different engine note but still has a very nice growl. The eagle eyed ones of you may have noticed I have a warning indicator on the dash already and this is because the battery is low. These cars don't like sitting around for any length of time and it has just been in the dealer lock up since it was delivered in February. They asked me to drive it a bit to see if it charges back up or they'll replace it. I'm going to get it replaced to be on the safe side and the dealer I picked it up from yesterday doesn't have an onsite workshop so couldn't get it changed there and then. So my first impressions so far is just amazing, will report back once I've had a proper play with it. :)

Beautiful motor! Shame about the colour (again.. :P ).

Nah, love it! How are the LED headlamps?

You and your colour !

They are epic mate, was driving home late last night using the high beam assist and it pretty much lit up everywhere coming down the little country lanes, Also found out that the M badges in the seats have lights in so looks pretty cool when you open the car at night time.
