Scarab 330ci
So jealous right now mate i love the E31s! I hope its a great car for you Cheers, I hope it's great too, after owning a similar vintage 740i which had loads of electrical gremlins and a blown head gasket there is always a worry in the back of my mind, but I don't mind spending the money if need be as I have always loved this car.You made the decision, just drive it and enjoy it, Regardless of what we think on here. It will be a sought after car in the future. Yup, a lot of controversy as to whether this will be an appreciating future classic, but with little over 3000 built for the UK market I'm sure it can only appreciate if we'll looked after. Looking forward to the appreciating stares I get WhackyWill and lloyd_330
TriggerFish
So train tickets are booked and picking it up on Thursday morning Excited for you. I'd love an E31. Even if it doesn't go up in value, when it's as cool as it is, who cares?!

Even if it doesn't go up in value, when it's as cool as it is, who cares?! Very true, I've just registered on the official 8er register, awaiting confirmation from them as they may ask for photos to prove ownership. I typed my vin number and it said the register has 12 photos and 2 PDF documents but I couldn't view them, hoping I can when I'm registered. Scarab 330ci
So I've just sorted insurance, £490 all in, multicar cover for a full year on the 840ci and 282 days on the 330ci (still got exsisting insurance on that), upto 6000 miles on each car, £150 excess on each. 12 years no claims 34 years old. Admiral. Strangely I put 2000 miles on the 840ci as that's all I will realistically do but the higher mileage I put the Lower the quote got, upto 7000 miles when it stated to rise again, so I kept it at 6000 and saved £25 Edited March 4, 2015 by Scarab 330ci L4nky808

Scarab 330ci
Just got back! well happy! bodywork is lovely, alloys have been fully refurbed and unmarked. drives like a dream, the V8 is lovely! so effortless! cruise control worked a dream, better system than my 330ci IMO, sport mirrors look realy smart too. Also the steering wheel raises when you put the hand brake on and take key out to make it easier to get out. all electrics work on seats, has electric leg support control too which my 330ci doesn't have interior is all good, rear seats look new as do all 8 series no doubt, boot is spotless, full toolkit but missing the torch. being pillarless, rear visability is so good when you check your blind spot! few issues. used the washer jets once on the way back and wipers were a bit iffy, seemed slow and stiff, no big deal. could do with a new leather gear knob, no big deal. missing a few pixels but ONLY on the radio display, again no big deal! and a couple of mis matched tyres on the front. all in all I think it was a steal at £5200!! going to take it to Chris Burton Specialist next week so fingers crossed its a good one! I do miss the centre armrest, specially in such a big cruiser! and do miss steering wheel controls for radio. Also weird having to go back to controlling the windows from the door instead of centre console. now how do I upload pictures! ive taken loads with my iphone but limit is 1mb and one photo takes that. whats the easiest way??? quick I want to show you my car porn!!! TriggerFish
Touches like the steering wheel are just so much cooler on older cars. Glad it seems good so far Best bet for photos is to put them onto Photobucket (or simular) and use the [[img ] code to display them on here

Scarab 330ci
Stunning car mate, very jealous right nowCheers, can't believe I own it now! Has paperwork from "diamond bright" back in 1999 which has a 6 year gaurentee card, some sort of long term body protection, which could explain the good bodywork. Has the usual swirl marks and rust coming through on the odd stone chip. Anyone reccomend any decent detailers in sussex? Or has anyone ever used the diamond bright protection? http://car-paint-protection.co.uk/car-paint-protection/ Edited March 5, 2015 by Scarab 330ci

Diamond Brite is a protection system usually used on new cars, sold to the first owner as part of the deal. It is normally applied during or straight after pre-delivery inspection. Ahh, I suspected as much, explains why it was done soon after original purchase from BMW at 4900 miles.

Scarab 330ci
As requested a few more snapshttp://s374.photobucket.com/user/games_consoles_uk/media/New%20photos/image.jpg1_zps3o0jxkws.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 Your notice I had to have a photo with the old neglected 330ci in the background, I'll take her to the shops later so she doesn't feel left out I have noticed the rear brake calipers are in great shape with just a little rust coming through and the front calipers look like like they have been refurbished, they are gloss black (unlike my 330ci which are covered in rust. Noticed a bit of green algae on the window rubbers at the bottom, anyone reccomend a cleaning solution?
