Banny
Running coilovers and as we all know the standard drop links are to long As recommended I used the Hyundai accent ones. Here's where my problem lies they are not man enough for the job, they are just too thin, because of this one of mine as snapped right by the ball joint is. So is there another manufacture that does something I can use that is more beefier as the Hyundai ones are not man enough for spirited driving. Rob-
You can make your own with threaded bar and rose joints for not too much money. Sent a PM to autosri on this forum, pretty sure he knows how to do it.
Banny
I want something proper and substantial, not saying it's not, but would rather something better than threaded bar, a Hyundai one has broken on me.
Rob-
The reason it will have broken is because it's the wrong length. With threaded bar it can be adjusted to your exact needs so will be less likely to snap. You can get purpose made adjustable ones but you'll pay more for them. They will still use threaded bar for the adjustment though. Edited June 30, 2015 by Rob- StuBeeDoo
Jay.
As above, there will be no tension on correctly adjusted adjustable droplinks StuBeeDoo
momo
Hyundai Accent drop links? I thought the recommended ones were from the Hyundai coupe?
Jay.
as above Momo is right - Hyundai coupe rears
Banny
It was the coupe rears I used my bad putting accent. So they must of been right length, they are not thick enough can't see any other reason for them to to break as the length is fine, don't even have to really do much with ARB to fit them
Banny
I have been looking at these rose joints now, seem strong, wonder what size joint and threaded bar to go for
StuBeeDoo
but would rather something better than threaded bar If threaded bar with rose joints either end is good enough for race cars.................
shafz
It was the coupe rears I used my bad putting accent. So they must of been right length, they are not thick enough can't see any other reason for them to to break as the length is fine, don't even have to really do much with ARB to fit themi had the same issue, the hyundai ones are a bit too short, causing them bear too much load and bending them.Im running Peugeot 406 rear ones and so far so good...Ive seen these on ebay but not sure on qualityhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-FRONT-ADJUSTABLE-SHORT-DROP-END-LINKS-FOR-BMW-E90-E91-E92-E93-/271894154276?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&fits=Plat_Gen%3AE46&hash=item3f4e278c24

shafz
Just ordered two new Hyundai ones now, so they are gonna break are the pug ones slightly longerthe pug ones are plastic ones.....160mm length...It was suitable for me, but not sure if it will be for you.tbh its probably more cost effective to buy an adjustable set rather than spending more and keep buying fixed length droplinks. autosri
M12 rod with m12 rose joints and 10mm reducers and 10mm bolts It's not to do with the strength the Hyundai ones are too short as the steering turns near full lock it's rotates them too much and binds up and causes them to snap shafz and StuBeeDoo
