Adverts blocking forum home screen.

Recommended Posts

I am having this same problem, i have had to come on to your profile and find your posts to reply to it!!! i have tried downloading an ad blocker, this stops the adverts but then i can't click on anything, i am using Safari, the site never used to be like this, there is no way to close the bloody things down, if you click the X on advert it still keeps blocking the same space on the page

Wow, ok,not good! I've disabled them for now, until I can get to look at whats causing it.

Sam, I'm still getting them on the home screen, They are not forum advertisers, they are 3rd party adverts from "adchoices" , if i go into a forum they disappear

Si, can you look at the code and find the ad code and paste it here please? If the code doesn't match, it's not coming from the site...

I get ad's as 'admin' so I can check they work or do stupid things like this, but I'm not getting ANY, let alone stupid ones like those. I've triple checked and they are disabled for everyone in the settings and there is no code for ad's in the source when I look.

I get them (if I disable ad block).

Below is the 'inspect element' output, but that link (I search for 'double', '2m' etc.) wasn't found in the output of viewing the source. It looks like the adds are being overlaid from another source to me

(I forgot to unpause adblock when uploading that photo - I'd forgotten how awful the internet is with ads!)

Subscribers aren't even in the group for ads, even though they are disabled, so it's double bubble. Seems like someones hacked and added the code, but why don't I see them? I've done the same as you Joe, nothing dodgy in my source code.

You can see from the tags at the bottom there are 2 HTML tags, which there should not be. Can you send me the code? The iframe had the account number in, might be able to get them to look into this!

I'll work on replacing the source files, see what happens.

I have just run the 'support' script, may have tidied something up, says this:

Sometimes badly cached data can cause problems. We have cleared all cached data, please check and see if your problem has been resolved.

Can anyone else confirm?

I've put ad's back on, lets see if they behave.

Sam i can confirm things are back to normal for me, there are ad's at top and bottom of page now instead of covering the whole page :D:D What ever you did seems to have solved the problem
