Robotson
What about this one, Carly BMW? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iViNi.bmwhatFull Better reviews! Also I've seen it available to download in a naughty fashion online.. But I'm scared of malware etc so haven't tried it. But if anyone feels like being a guinea pig... From the little research I've done it appears you don't need their official dongle, it should work with others too.
momo
Carly seem to have updated the app so it ONLY works with their dongle.. I have a cracked, older version which used to work well. Not tried it in a while. It keeps saying to update. Not sure it's worth £40 though. Especially now that you have to buy their own dongle.

Should have my new xenons next week so I'll try and get PA Soft working this weekend. Will see if I can recalibrate my auto wipers too! Anyone know if you can code the car to do auto-closing of windows when you lock with the fob too?
TriggerFish
I've installed it - not yet played with it though. Will have a look on the way home if I remember. You can code closing with fob with PA-soft - but you might need to modify the rear switches on a coupe (but that might only be true for one-touch closing). Anyway, it's certainly codeable. But does anyone know if this will also work with the other options like INPA and Carly? PS @dontpannic could I please get that file off you too? Cheers! Tim-Ci
I think the PA Soft dongles only work with PA Soft and nothing else, I hope to be corrected though... I don't think fob window closing needs the rear switches modified, the one touch close using the modified rear switches is a separate feature I think. Even after coding the fob window closing using PA Soft, it's not an automatic thing that happens. You need to lock the car as normal using the fob, then release the button for a second, then press and hold it for a few seconds, before the windows start closing. Still quite a handy feature though, although modifying the rear window switches to allow one touch up (and coding it) is more useful in my opinion. You can code the master button that controls all windows to allow one touch up (and modify that switch too), so when you've pulled finished a journey, just pull up on the master window switch, let go, and all the windows close automatically in less than five seconds. Tim-Ci
Thanks for the link to the Deep OBD app. I'll give it a try, although I agree, if dontpannic finds it technical then I think it might be a bit beyond me too
TriggerFish
Just a tip - you should be able to just hold the un/lock button, no need to release. That said, it often doesn't work first time, and needs a second press. It shouldn't though.
Tim-Ci
Thanks Triggerfish, yes it can be a a bit hit and miss so I assumed you needed to release it and press again.
VictorMet7
I am still using it. I think that it is the most useful app that I have on my phone.
RGoldManning
To be honest that is a great app, it helped me a lot when I had problems with the engine. When the heat sensors were broken i was looking on the app and that was really incredible. So now I have bought a smartphone that would be always connected to the car, so I could see all the statistics. Also that is great because can play https://clubvip777.com/web/happyluke/ on it from time to time while I will drive on the long road. Moreover this app is comfortable to use and it doesn't require much attention. Edited November 20, 2020 by RGoldManning
