Last month, my battery nearly gave up, but after a couple of attempts, I just managed to get her started. I nipped down to an auto-electrics near where I work and asked if they could have a quick check to make sure it wasn't the alternator. With the tailgate up, the guy comes out with his charge-checker, "start it up mate" he asks. "It is running, I didn't want to turn it off in case it wouldn't start" I said. He then went around the car repeating "f*** me, isn't it quiet, it sounds f****** lovely" With my head growing, I blipped the throttle a couple of times, with him shaking his head, and asking the mileage. When I told him, he had to have a look at the dash to make sure. £68 later, I was driving home to fit my new battery wearing a big smile!
