Why bother subscribing?

Recommended Posts

Personally cozy the amount I've saved from being on here (when I had my e46) it's more than worth it. I'll still keep subscription when it's up as it a great forum and to give a little back to support it is the least I can do.

I'm with you, Dude.

Trouble is, plenty of people aren't. (People who only ever ask questions, and never bother to thank the ones who provide the answers. People who don't understand the concept of "you have to speculate to accumulate".)

IIRC, some prick signed-up a while back and his first post was a rant that he should be able to come on here and offer his car for sale. His thinking went something along the lines that if he sold it to someone on a forum he could legitimately ask top-dollar for it. A few of us shot him down and he was never seen again.

People with that kind of attitude boil my piss! (He was probably a regular on E30Zone.....)

i only pay as i CBA to stop my re-occuring payment via paypal......................................

only joking, i pay because i support the site. when i 1st joined many moons ago, like most i was looking to buy an e46 and found one for sale on this site via member DaveGT, afterwards the support and advice was spot on, that with the constant banter imo makes it worth the 2.7p per day.

again as feva said, if i were to change cars, id still pay to be a subscriber on here for the banter alone

I don't subscribe. I do think you should be able to advertise cars for sale though, as a non subscriber, just not parts. At least punters would have the option of being able to buy a non-subscribers car then. The post count limit could weed out any newbies joining just for that purpose.

Oooops, I seem to have stirred a hornets nest!

I'm on 2 other BMW forums which don't charge, that's all!

Well isn't that nice

I think strategically, it'd be good for your paying members to have a chance to buy cars who are enthusiastically owned and cared for.

With the shoe on the other foot, you're not giving people free advertising, you're giving your members more variety.

Motors.co.uk and gumtree are both free, it makes your autotrader argument invalid.

My 2p worth that's all, take it or leave it.

I just don't get the mentality. Who won't support a site they've posted on over 3500 times for £10/year (0.03p a day) to help it stay afloat?

Without the subs, this site would close.

I've subscribed not to sell but to support. I've never sold anything probably never will. Gave stuff away for free though. As stated above if you like the site giving a little bit of support imo isn't a big ask.

In my defence, those 3500 posts are mostly constructive, I've offered advice, guidance and support to members here since I joined. I haven't owned an E46 since 2011, yet I still visit and support your site, albeit not financially. All I said was why not open up the cars for sale for non subscribers to post in. Give new members the opportunity to buy 'zone cars' whether the seller is a subscriber or not.

Sam, gqnuine question, how many members, or better still, what percentage of your members are subscribers?
