Cannockwolf's Supercharged 330ci in Laguna Seca Blue

Recommended Posts

I don't think so, its his car and his choice but if he was swapping cars every couple of years I bet he would have spent a lot more and wouldn't have something as individual as he has now.

I intend to keep my car for years and I have already spent as much on upgrades and maintenance than I have on its purchase.

When I am finished it will probably have cost me 6k but wouldn't be worth half that to anyone else, but I will be happy :)

I think the thing with modding and spending so much on a car in general applies to any model or current value. I sometimes get 'it's an older car now, can't be worth spending so much money on, it's only an e46, why don't you buy an M3 or a later 3 series etc' I think the fact that most of us don't buy a later model, for me at least, is because the later models haven't grown on me and IMO don't have quite the visual presence as the e46, even in standard guise. My favourite Bimmers are the 2002, the 3000csl, the e24 635csi (including the M), the original 5 series, the e30 and of course the e46. Take any of the latter, spend good money restoring, modding or running one and everyone gets it. Heck the e36 is now becoming a cult classic and I believe the e46 will also, regardless of mods as long as they are tasteful. In my case I could easily have gone for an e46 M3 or a later e9x model but they didn't leap out at me. Mine is very subtley modded (sportline, cades tyrus) and the paintwork is in excellent condition. It still turns heads and draws comments of approval. So I say, if you intend on keeping it, spend the money keeping it running as well as you can (maintenance first) and within a few short years you'll have a future classic that doesn't require a mortgage to restore to former glory. That said, don't bankrupt yourself as you will never see that money back, it's all about the experience and owning and driving something unique :)

I bought the car 15 months old for £15k after trade-in at 16K on the clock, so I know its history and has been maintained perfectly since then, never missed a service and had any repairs done straight away, I couldn't buy another e46 with the same confidence of its past.

I did look at buying a E9x but I cant stand them tbh, so after owning it for 5 years, i decided to spend the money i would have paid on a new car by making this one as good as i could (in my eyes, i know its not to everyones taste) and what i have now is a car which wherever i go i have people complimenting it, not even realising its been modded half the time and i still have half decent mpg too.

I dont come on here saying what maintenance i have done but in the last 14 months i have spent £1700 on tyres, dual mass, clutch, drive shaft donuts, bushes etc, so this isnt doing a 'tricky' (sorry mate) im just lucky i can do this through the company.

I genuinely 'LOVE' my car even after 7 years of ownership and i doubt i would get that back if i sold it and bought another car (for sensible money!)

ive looked into a ESS supercharger, but after reinforcing the rear subframe and improving the remaining exhaust system etc, i'd be looking at the best part of £10k... maybe one day, never say never LOL

Very inspirational couple of paragraphs there! I think you have persuaded me to hang to mine. Last few days I have been looking at e90 330ds and have been quite tempted.

Forced induction would be the cherry on the cake Cannockwolf ;) I don't have the budget for it myself but would if I did...

Just ordered the K-sport rears, doing them both in one go as i think just the fronts will look like half a job, i was going to do the backs in a month or so anyway in preperation
