ThE

Once someone has replied to a thread its no longer the OP's thread to make demands on so unless it breaks the site rules it should run.

Not the case Blair. The OP can request a thread to be removed should they wish to or for it to be closed. If the OP is no longer comfortable with a thread they started to still run, we have to respect their wishes regardless of what other topic contributers may think.

Disagree Mikey can this thread be deleted as I don't like the way it's going?

You're not the OP.

Agreed but I don't like the fact you disagree so I want every post after mine deleting. (I don't but I don't really see the difference or why you'd delete a thread just because the OP asks unless it breaks the site rules)

So basically what you are saying is someone starts a thread, realises it's not going the way they want it to so they request for it to be deleted however we should ignore their request because others are enjoying it? Seriously? Because other people have posted in the thread, the OP no longer has a right to ask it to be removed?

Believe me, we've removed other threads at OP's request purely because they've asked but this is the first time that I've seen anyone complain about an OP asking their own thread to be removed.

Didn't you request your thread to be deleted when you threw your toys out the pram and left the forum Blair?

I'm up for a laugh, that's the whole reason I started the thread, but when people are threatening to hassle ex gf's and girls I'm trying to get to know imo that's not on which is why I requested it got deleted

I'll put money on it someone's shown one of the birds the thread & he's had a good slapping!

Seriously though, it's a public forum & anything that goes on here is in the public domain, crawled by god knows how many search engine bots. OP should've thought about that prior to starting it surely?

That's exactly what I'm suggesting. Using your theory surely 1. The OP should have the rights to delete his own thread. 2. If a poster doesn't like they way the thread is going the thread should be deleted.

No I didn't I removed my content from own thread and with hindsight I was wrong to do that but we live and learn.

One bad egg spoils a light hearted thread for the majority...

If a poster doesn't like they way the thread is going the thread should be deleted.

If a poster doesn't like it they can either;

1. Report the thread and the admin team will make a decision whether to remove the thread.

2. Don't post in it.

I really don't see a problem with the way it currently works and judging by the fact you seem to be the only one objecting, others don't either.

I have to agree with Mikey, I can't see the problem with how it works now. If an OP makes a thread it should be up to them if it remains not you or I. Then if your that worried about it re make the thread off your own back then see how it goes.
