BMW E46 3.0CS - project. *new pics

Recommended Posts

I suppose it all depends how accurate the dyno is, how dense the air is, how accurate the drivetrain loss calculation is (assume FW power), but I'm going to have a guess at 225bhp.

Edit: Just almost spat my tea out when I read this: "Don’t worry kid, the monster isn’t under your bed, it’s in the garage"

It's making max. torque at 2100rpm?? :o That's diesel revs. I'd expect a petrol engine to make its torque around 3.5-4.5k.

s**t dyno. Those figures might as well be made up.
AmD is s**t? Think again... or look at their work/reviews.

I don't get the "figures may be made up", can you be more specific?

Firstly I don't need to think again. I've been around long enough in the game to know who to use and who not to.

AMD have a very mixed rep and I wouldn't give any car to them or recommend their mapping or work.

Regarding your figures it looks to like me some dyno manipulation as these engines make around 220lbft torque. Secondly as pointed out by Stu your max torque shouldn't be that low down the rev range. So again the figures should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Ironically those hideous rs replicas are more suited to a slammed vag car than the OZ's. They're period German wheel exotica. What's the specs on them?

The other wheels are DARE RS, quite common as i've seen them on many BMWs last time at Santa Pod.

The OZ are 18x8.5J and ET15, will suit a M3 I guess, but clearly not mine without arch work, camber and stretched tires.

Im quite a fan of the Dares! I used to have a similar set on my Clubsport, albeit with silver bolts and a BMW centre badge. If you're ever considering selling them I may be interested mate.

Today I wanted to sell them and get the OZ, not sure what to get next tho' as I've sold my clubsport alloys after pissing me off by their look like 16s and high ET making them lost in the arches.....

Any suggestions are welcome guys, only 18".

I like the Dare DR-RS wheels but could never have them because of the cleaning they must need!

I think they suit all BMW's up to and including the e46 and maybe some after. Dare do some great replica like wheels at a good price. They weigh alot more but unless you're a track guru I doubt you'd notice.

I think the red centre caps look ok too. I'm not into the OZ's but it's all about what you like on your car not what I or anyone else likes. We all stick to safe tried and tested BMW friendly wheels and few try anything different.

The OZ's won't fit anyway but if they did they might look ok when on properly with it sat right.

I know what they are, I know what they wished they were too, and between dare, lenso & the other bandwagon jumpers rebranding cheap Chinese wheels they've saturated the market with cheap looking replicas that have no place on a BMW IMO.
