shafz
have you tried adding a parent/older driver as a 2nd driver? Cannockwolf, troublesome84 and StuBeeDoo
troublesome84
Try registering the car for one of the parents and add yourself as a second driver. This should bring the premiums down. If you add them as a second driver it might go down a bit less.
simonlpearce
To be honest that seems like a reasonable price if you ask me. I was paying around £1400 at your age for a 330 fully comp with similar history. mb15

Leedunn86
Try Endsleigh they do student discount on insurance that you might qualify for, tbh though it doesn't sound like a bad quote I pay just a little bit less for a 316 and I'm 29 with full no claims and the cars garages at night. It does have a lot to do with the area where you live
TriggerFish
I'm paying £330 for my nodded 330d at 24. Before graduating, it was more expensive, but I don't think it was over £800! Have you tried ommitting the student part?
Nick330ci
at 24 I was paying £380 for my 330, although had 7 years no claims. admiral have always been cheapest for me, until this year when its Axa, shows I am getting on a bit! also try playing around with your excess. I found that reducing my excess from £250 to £150 reduced my premium by £50! unbelievable!

Probably due to EU licence & low NCD. Edited July 9, 2015 by troublesome84
LiamGTR
Try Endsleigh Good shout I forgot about Endsleigh, they were actually who I had my very first insurance with when I was a College student (19 with a 1.4 Ford Escort, lol).I'm paying £330 for my nodded 330d at 24. Before graduating, it was more expensive, but I don't think it was over £800! Have you tried ommitting the student part? I don't really want to omit declaring I will be a full-time student. God forbid I ever need to claim and they declined it I'd kick myself.at 24 I was paying £380 for my 330, although had 7 years no claims. admiral have always been cheapest for me, until this year when its Axa, shows I am getting on a bit! also try playing around with your excess. I found that reducing my excess from £250 to £150 reduced my premium by £50! unbelievable! That's a point, I'll actually have 6NCB by the time of renewal, my bad! Will get some new quotes now. I'll also have a play around with the excess, thanks.
The_Judge_
You might also want to try a broker like Swinton - usually pretty good for these scenarios. Maybe even Adrian Flux. BTW - I've had the box before (Insurethebox) - they don't spy on you - I drove it like an idiot over speed limits on motorways etc and nothing happened. Downsides are - you are only insured to drive your car - and you only get allowed something like 8,000 miles a year, if you want more you have to drive well. Suffice to say I never qualified for more miles ! As an added bonus - you get a tracker in your car for free! p.s. I'm guessing your car is black? Do you have Pass Plus? - only useful for under 25's though Do you lecture as part of your course? May sounds stupid but mention your a part time teacher/lecturer (if you are) Ultimately you are telling them you are a student, I would imagine this is the biggest negative weight so any positive weights you can add the better.
